Originally conceived as a commissioned video project for a musician, Fail7’s visual narrative unfolds across Puerto Escondido, Mexico, Seabrook, Texas, and Houston, Texas. A warped world and twisted reality that flows like ocean waves.

Everest, a practice in meditation. The girls eating at Patrick Miller, the golden sun en Las Brisas (a beach Neighborhood in Puerto Escondido), the bears in Nichos over Frank Ocean’s voice. A calmness in memory from this summary of life. From Oaxaca to Mexico City to Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles. Processing and celebrating queerness across a myriad of domains.
My work was discovered via Scruff and the curator left the show as soon as we started working. Post Penis, a call to examine gay and straight patriarchy. What would I be beyond myself? Are there more interesting modes of queerness and existence? That was the lens presenting these works. From the school of Preteen Gallery and Gerardo Contras. Titles and text are independent works. Looking back, I was the most free during this time. This exhibition showcased a snapshot from life in Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Texas. An immersive experience as a sound file played on loop. Arca, Frank Ocean, Fuck Buttons, Clams Casino, Dirty Beaches, Shlohmo, Light Asylum. Transporting self through light, sound, and, image.
